Welcome to Mas de Carabelle, our charming B&B perched in La Roque-Alric, one of the stunning villages nestled between the rocky cliffs of the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux, the giant of Provence. We offer four large, air-conditioned rooms with their own private entrances from a shared courtyard.
Upon arrival you will be invited to join us for a welcome drink on our terrace with a stunning view of the Dentelles. In the morning, you will enjoy a copious breakfast combining local, seasonal, and homemade products. After a full day of reveling in the treasures of Provence, you will also have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of John’s labor as a chef. You would be invited to join us and fellow guests around the table for dinner on a covered terrace overlooking the Carabelle hillside,
the namesake of our B&B.
With a plethora of walking and cycling trails, olive groves and vineyards leaving from our doorstep, Mas de Carabelle is ideally situated for those who love nature, outdoor activities and French wine and food. It also offers peace and tranquility for those who are looking to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as you relax on the elevated terrace. After a day exploring the natural beauty and local markets of the Vaucluse region, a refreshing dip in our cozy pool (3m x 5m) will be most welcome. Fellow wine enthusiasts will be spoiled for choice as we are surrounded by the famous wine villages of the Côtes du Rhone and Ventoux AOC regions, such as Beaumes de Venise, Vaqueyras or Gigondas, to name just a few!
Valeria & John
Your hosts are Valeria and John, two Americans that have been following their dream of living in Europe since 2003. How does a Jersey girl end up with a boy from Seattle, Washington you ask? Studying abroad in Vienna, Austria of course! And that is where our love affair in and with Europe began.
One of the first trips we took as backpacking students was cycling around Aix-en-Provence. It was then that the seeds of the dream to open a B&B in the south of France were planted. We took many windy roads and detours along the way, working corporate jobs for over 20 years across New York, London, and Paris.
Valeria spent her career in various sales, marketing, and client management roles. John started as an accountant but his passion for food and cooking eventually led him to become a chef in London and then a bread baker in Paris.
We, along with our adopted pup Nena, have finally found our dream home in Provence in April 2022 and are very excited to invite you in and share with you our little piece of heaven.

Picholine
Benefiting from ‘french countryside’ decor, Picholine is bathed in turquoise blue hues with plush velvet chairs to settle into. It is located on the ground floor with its own private entrance and direct access to the courtyard shaded by the majestic loquat / Neflier tree. At 30m2 in size, it has a hotel quality queen size bed (160 x 200cm) providing ultimate comfort for a restful stay. The spacious bathroom enjoys a vast Italian shower, travertine tiles, a natural stone basin, and separate WC.
“Picholine” is an olive variety, used often during an aperitif. It originates from the Gard region, is lightly spicy and characterized by its fruity aromas with herbal notes.
Other amenities: Free WIFI, TV, air conditioning/heating, towel warmer, hairdryer, and access to fully equipped communal kitchen with stove, refrigerator, French press coffee maker, electric kettle, washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.

Colombale
This spacious suite of 40m2 is located on the ground floor with its own private entrance and direct access to the courtyard shaded by the majestic loquat / Neflier tree. Colombale is decorated with provençal furniture in warm earthy colors, tipping its hat to the farmhouse theme and the olive groves on the surrounding hillsides of the Mas de Carabelle. The room has a hotel quality queen size bed (160 x 200 cm) providing ultimate comfort for a restful stay. It also enjoys a salon area which can be separated from the bedroom by floor-to-ceiling curtains, with a large convertible sofa bed (160 x 185 cm) which could welcome two additional people. The vast bathroom area, with Italian shower and stone basin, is tiled throughout with earthy tones. The WC is separate.
“Colombale” is an olive variety commonly used for oil which has a strong resistance to frost, cultivated in the Alpes de Haute-Provence.

Bouteillan
This bright and spacious room of 30m2 if decorated with Asian lacquered furnishing in sunset shades of auburn and yellow. It is located on the ground floor with its own private entrance and direct access to the courtyard shaded by the majestic loquat / Neflier tree. The room has a hotel quality queen size bed (160 x 200 cm) providing ultimate comfort for a restful stay. The fully tiled bathroom enjoys a large Italian shower, a modern washbasin, and a separate WC.
“Bouteillan” is an olive variety cultivated throughout the south of France, characterized by its green fruit with herbal aromas evolving into notes of mature pear.

Cayon
Cayon is unique at Mas de Carabelle as it is a duplex of 30m2, with a cozy salon on the ground floor, equipped with a lavish sky-blue velvet sofa to sink in to for a good book, a decadent nap, or just a cool break away from the hot Provençal sun. The WC is also on the ground floor. The bedroom is on the first floor with a hotel quality queen size bed (160 x 200 cm), which can also be made into 2 single beds. The first floor is completed with a walk-in shower, modern washbasin, and beautiful views of the village of La Roque-Alric and the Carabelle hillside, the namesake of our B&B. Canyon has its own private entrance and direct access to the courtyard shaded by the majestic loquat / Neflier tree.
“Canyon” is a variety of olives that is cultivated predominantly in the Var region. It is used to produce a sweet olive oil, dominated by a fruity flavor with hints of tomato.

Free parking available at the top of the village dedicated to the Mas de Carabelle. It is important to note this is located 200 meters from the property. Please take care to remove all personal and valuable property from your vehicle. Mas de Carabelle is not responsible for any loss or damages.
Bed linen, towels and pool towels provided by us and not changed daily.
All guest rooms have access to a fully equipped communal kitchen with stove, refrigerator, French press coffee maker, electric kettle, washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.
Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is served between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m.
Dinner / Table d’Hôte will be offered up to 3 nights a week, with aperitif at 7:00pm and dinner at 8:00pm. Reservations will be required in advance, no later than the day before.
Rates 2024
All room prices are per night based on 1 or 2 persons, including breakfast. A taxe de séjour (tourism tax) of € 0,70 per person per night will be added to the final bill.
